President Trump will address the nation on Thursday, according to a statement posted on the president’s social media account.
“President Trump will be making a Speech to the Nation on Thursday evening, at 9 P.M. Eastern,” the statement read. “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
It is unclear at this time what the president plans to discuss, but there are several possibilities. Most prominently, it seems likely that President Trump may address the evolving situation with Iran.
The U.S. military has completed several rounds of attacks against the Iranian regime over the past week. On Monday, President Trump released a statement on Truth Social announcing that the U.S. Navy had reinstated a blockade on Iranian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz – a major development in the war.
“The U.S.A. will be, from this point forward, known as ‘THE GUARDIAN OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT,’ but as such, and as a matter of FAIRNESS, will be reimbursed, at the rate of 20% on all cargo shipped, for any and all costs necessary to do the job of providing safety and security to this very volatile section of the World,” he wrote.
Most recently, U.S. forces completed another round of attacks against “dozens of Iranian targets and multiple locations” on Sunday as the American military seeks to keep the Strait of Hormuz secured, per the U.S. Central Command.
Additionally, President Trump may also discuss the sudden passing of high-profile Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
Graham passed away on Saturday night at the age of 71. As reported by RSBN, President Donald Trump recommended to South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster (R) that Graham’s sister, Darline Graham Nordone, be appointed to fill the seat as an interim senator. On Monday, Gov. McMaster did exactly that, and Nordone confirmed that she would take on the role.
