President Donald Trump was excitedly welcomed by restaurant workers during a visit to Rome, Georgia on Thursday.
The president visited The Varsity restaurant before delivering remarks in a nearby location, with workers beaming at him upon his entry.
One worker told the president that she has been working at the restaurant for 45 years. Another told the president he had been there for 50 years.
President Trump also signed MAGA hats for supporters at The Varsity.
After visiting the restaurant, the president gave remarks at the Coosa Steel Corporation. With his speech focusing on the economy, President Trump’s visit also precedes the March 10 special election to fill the congressional seat held by former GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
The president has already endorsed Republican Clay Fuller, a district attorney who prosecutes crimes across four counties, to represent the vacant seat in Georgia’s 14th congressional district.
