President Trump called into his Saturday rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, to inform rallygoers that the rally would have to be postponed for safety reasons. He urged all attendees to “leave the site and seek shelter” as the dangerous storm rolled in.
“What we’ll do is we’ll make up for this very quickly at another time. But we’ll do it as quickly as possible. I’m devastated that this could happen, but we want to keep everybody safe. That’s the most important thing. We want everybody there to be 100 percent safe,” said President Trump.
Stay tuned for updates on the new rally date.
