Election Day is here, and while it seems reasonable that Republicans will likely take a majority in the House, several high-stakes Senate races across the U.S. are important to watch for those hoping for a GOP sweep.
In October, Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., predicted that Republicans might seize up to a 55-seat majority in the Senate after Election Day results were in, per RSBN. Likewise, Real Clear Politics has forecasted that the GOP would likely pick up Senate seats in Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia this election while holding on to seats in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.
Today, here are some of the most critical Senate races to watch headed into election night.
Arizona
U.S. Senate GOP nominee Blake Masters has taken the lead in his race as voters hit the polls on Tuesday, with Trafalgar projecting a one-point lead over his opponent, Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz.
Masters has been endorsed by Trump and joins the Arizona conservative dream team of America First candidates running for office, including gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake, secretary of state nominee Mark Finchem, and attorney general nominee Abe Hamedeh. If Masters wins on Tuesday, it would be a major GOP pick-up in the Senate.
Georgia
Trump endorsed GOP Senate hopeful Herschel Walker is running to unseat radical left Sen. Raphael Warnock, D-Ga. Walker’s potential victory today would flip an incumbent Democrat’s seat red. As previously reported by RSBN, Walker was up by at least three points over Warnock via Trafalgar.
Nevada
The Silver State is also projected to go red this election, as Trump-endorsed U.S. Senate nominee and former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt is maintaining a solid five-point lead over Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., based on Trafalgar’s latest polls. Real Clear Politics predicts an average 3.4 lead will result in a GOP pick-up.
Pennsylvania
Voters will be closely watching to see if the GOP manages to hold their Senate seat in the Keystone State as Pennsylvania U.S. Senate nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz battles it out with Democrat opponent John Fetterman.
The chances look promising, as Trump-endorsed Oz is postulated to win with roughly four points via Real Clear Politics. If Oz wins, he will fill the seat vacated by Pennsylvania Republican Sen. Pat Toomey. Another poll by Targoz Market Research has Oz up by five points.
Ohio
“Hillbilly Elegy” author and Trump-endorsed Ohio Senate nominee JD Vance is set to soar to victory on Tuesday night if polls and projections materialize accordingly. Per Emerson College, Vance is holding a sizeable lead over his opponent, Sen. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio., to the tune of eight points. However, a final poll from Data for Progress found that Vance was holding a massive 10-point lead over Ryan, indicating that Ohio is likely to remain red in the Senate race this year.
