Federal agents are now reportedly suggesting that their review of the documents seized from President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in August shows no apparent business motive or “nefarious” intent, according to The Washington Post.
The outlet’s exclusive claims federal agents and prosecutors reportedly believe that President Trump held onto the documents after leaving the White House for his own personal reasons, such as to hold them as mementos, individuals close to the matter allegedly disclosed.
The individuals told the outlet that so far, in the FBI’s review of the documents seized during the storming of Trump’s Florida residence last August, they have not found any effort by the president to use the documents as leverage or to use and sell government classified information. Rather, federal authorities speculate that President Trump kept what he believed to be his property.
While no final determination has been made amid the ongoing investigation, a decision on whether President Trump would be criminally charged may arrive soon as federal prosecutors were reportedly waiting after November’s election to announce their decision, per RSBN.
Following the FBI’s politically motivated raid against President Trump, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, revealed that several FBI whistleblowers spoke with him, dropping information on what has been happening in the Justice Department, RSBN previously reported.
“14 FBI agents have come to our office as whistleblowers, and they are good people. There are lots of good people in the FBI. It’s the top that is the problem,” Jordan said. “Some of these good agents are coming to us, telling us this is baloney, what’s going on — the political nature now of the Justice Department — God bless them for doing it — talking about the school board issue, about a whole host of issues.”
During his Pennsylvania Save America rally in September, President Trump called the FBI’s raid a “travesty of justice that made a mockery of America’s laws, traditions, and principles before the entire world.” He also accused the Department of Justice (DOJ) of trampling on his rights, per RSBN.
Trump added that the FBI and DOJ have become “vicious monsters.”
