In the days since his historic announcement to support President Donald Trump’s election campaign, former Democratic turned Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has candidly detailed his decision to join forces with the MAGA movement.
In a Sunday post on X, Kennedy he explained “What MAGA really means” and ensured his followers that Trump supporters viewed the movement in the same way.
“The phrase has troubled liberals who think it is a call for a return to an America before civil rights, gay rights, and women’s rights. But I have a more generous interpretation, one that is truer to my experience of Donald Trump as he is today. ‘Make America Great Again’ recalls a nation brimming with vitality, with a can-do spirit, with hope and a belief in itself. It was an America that was beginning to confront its darker shadows, could acknowledge the injustice in its past and present, yet at the same time could celebrate its successes,” Kennedy wrote.
“It was a nation of broad prosperity, the world’s most vibrant middle class, and a idealistic belief (though not consistently applied) in freedom, justice, and democracy. It was a nation that led the world in innovation, productivity, and technology. And it was the healthiest country in the world. I have talked to many Trump supporters. I have talked with his inner circle. I have talked to the man himself. This is the America they want to restore,” he added.
The viral post has reached over 7.2 million views in less than 24 hours on X.
During his address to the nation and his speech during Trump’s Arizona rally, Kennedy described how he would fight for the health of all Americans, especially children. A new campaign message was born, Make America Healthy Again, or MAHA, which will undoubtedly be a centerpiece of his and Trump’s campaign.
In his speech, Kennedy explained how they were both concerned about a significant decrease in quality of life, along with an explosion of chronic illness in young Americans, which they both believe is due to food ingredients.
Kennedy also hinted at more surprises in a Sunday post on X.
He shared a NewsNation broadcast about current polling and captioned it with, “This is only the beginning. Wait till you see the next additions to President Trump’s Unity Government. #UniteAmerica #MAHA.”
