As a top Russian official threatened Western capitals of possible nuclear hits due to their support of Ukraine, former President Donald Trump has continually called for peace between the Russia-Ukraine war.

Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev warned Western capitals over the weekend that they would be in danger of the country’s “entire strategic arsenal” nuclear weapons if countries like the U.S. and U.K. continued to advocate for a Ukrainian victory, according to Breitbart.

“Attempts to return Russia to the borders of 1991 will lead to only one thing. To a global war with Western countries using the entire strategic arsenal of our state. In Kiev, Berlin, London, Washington,” Medvedev stated, the outlet reported.

While Biden officials and GOP members, like president candidate Nikki Haley, have continued to push the U.S. to fund Ukraine in helping its efforts against Russia, Trump has continued to call for peace within the region since last year.

Just last month, the 45th president stated on Truth Social if he were in office, the Russia-Ukraine war “would have never have happened.” The former president slammed the “tragic waste of human life” by stating how he would bring peace between the two countries.

During an exclusive interview with Steve Bannon last May, Trump stated that he could “get Ukraine and Russia settled in 24 hours,” noting his “good relationship” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump had stressed to Bannon the concerns he had over “so many people” being killed and stated that the mass destruction from the war was “much worse” than anybody understood.

Trump’s campaign policies regarding foreign negotiations have continued to press for world peace as ongoing conflicts grow both in the Middle East and between Russia and Ukraine.

“We need a statesman and a peacemaker in the White House, not someone who recites mindless and recycled talking points to win the approval of the failed foreign policy establishment. They didn’t know what they were doing. In 2024, I am the only candidate who can prevent World War III. I will prevent World War III — there’s nobody else that’s going to do that,” Trump previously stated in a campaign video.
