President Trump’s upcoming Saturday rally in Des Moines, Iowa will feature a host of guest speakers ahead of the president’s anticipated remarks, marking his second official campaign rally of the 2024 presidential election season.
“President Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America, will be joined by members of Congress, state legislators, Iowa caucus-goers, and grassroots leaders on Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Des Moines, IA,” the Trump campaign announced this week.
Thousands of rallygoers are expected to fill the Lauridsen Amphitheater at Water Works Park in Des Moines on Saturday ahead of President Trump’s speech. MAGA supporters can expect to hear remarks from former Acting U.S. Attorney General Matt Whitaker, former Iowa Republican Rep. Rod Blum, and Iowa Sen. Brad Zaun (R), along with Rep. Bobby Kaufman, R-Iowa.
President Trump held his campaign rally kickoff in March in Waco, Texas, where he drew thousands of supporters and garnered millions of online viewers. Since Trump’s Waco rally, he has been arraigned in Manhattan on 34 felony counts of “falsifying” business records. He has also recently appealed the past week’s verdict from a New York jury that found him liable for defamation and battery in the bizarre E. Jean Carroll “rape” case.
The legal cases against Trump have only seemed to increase his popularity among GOP voters who are frustrated with the political weaponization of today’s justice system. RSBN reported that Trump is holding a powerful lead in Iowa headed into Saturday’s event, scoring a 30-point lead on a six-way ballot for the 2024 Republican nomination.
Saturday’s rally will kick off at 3:00 p.m. ET when the doors open, and at 5:00 p.m. ET, the guest speaker program is scheduled to begin. President Trump is expected to deliver remarks at 8:00 p.m. ET.
