As the new year begins, it’s a time for personal reflection and setting new goals. Christians may also use this time of year to improve their lives and pursue faith-centered objectives.
Every new year begins with a truly joyous celebration. It’s a time of hope, a fresh start, and a reminder of God’s faithfulness. As believers, we should thank the Lord for our blessings and deliverance from sin and look forward to the journey ahead with optimism.
Focus on God’s plan for your life. Even somber occasions like a death in the family or a debilitating illness can offer valuable teachings and lessons relevant to the Christian faith. Though our earthly journey is temporary, Christ’s light can overcome even the deepest shadows if we embrace it.
Looking forward, our aim in the new year should focus entirely on Christ. Ask yourselves such questions as: What can I do for the global church? Can I assist my local church more? Am I truly serving my neighbor (humanity)?
Lastly, am I living a Christ-honoring life? If you seek changes in your Christian walk, how you answer such questions will perhaps determine your 2025 goals.
All believers should be involved in one way or another with fellow Christians and the global church. Living in the Scriptures is personal, yet undeniably the most impactful thing we as Christians can do. It inspires, empowers and guides us daily.
There are several 2025 Bible Reading plans in which one could genuinely benefit from structured reading. Ligonier Ministries has 20+ ready-to-print reading plans available for download from various sources. If you haven’t ever been part of a formal Bible reading plan or read the Bible in a year, now is a great time to start. The experience is rewarding and keeps us in the Word regularly, assisting our faith and keeping us disciplined.
Regardless of how you alter your Christian journey in 2025, ensure it is done. Faith is one of being rebuilt and remade in Jesus Christ. We refer to this as sanctification. We should never be complacent in our faith. Yet we should be growing, as the disciples did, and seek to partake in the Great Commission of sharing the Gospel with everyone across the world.
As Christians, the best thing we can do is set time apart for prayer, fellowship, and biblical studies. Each year the Lord allows His creation to continue on earth is a true blessing, we must do our part to partake in His plan.
