Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick commended President Donald Trump for his influence over multiple conservative victories in the state legislature during its 140-day session.

In a post on X, Patrick shared what appeared to be a letter to the President, highlighting several of his accomplishments.

The state’s passage of school choice was Patrick’s top success. “It will change education forever for Texas families by giving them a say in their child’s education.” He noted that his efforts had pushed the bill through the Senate five times, but said it never made it through the House.

“Only YOU got it across the finish line. Your commitment and passion on this issue, and your phone call to Republican House members the morning of the vote, made all the difference. Your call increased our winning vote total to 86 out of 88 Republicans who voted in favor. That’s extraordinary,” Patrick wrote.

Patrick pointed out that the bill was the “largest launch” of school choice in the history of the World. “You made it happen,” he wrote to Trump.

“One of your MANY crowning achievements will be that you are the President who changed education in America. Not only will students and families have great education options, but public schools will be forced to compete against private schools, making public education better,” Patrick declared.

“Because of you making this a major national policy issue, every student now has a chance at the American dream through a great education,” he wrote.

“Thank you, Mr. President, for making this dream come true,” Patrick concluded.

President Trump recently recognized Patrick for his work in passing a bill in the Senate to give local law enforcement authority to work with the federal government to arrest illegal migrants.

“My friend, Conservative Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, and the Texas Senate, passed a strong 287(g) Bill to give local Texas Law Enforcement FULL AUTHORITY to assist the Federal Government in arresting and detaining criminals who are in our Country illegally. The Texas House needs to pass SB8, as written. I am watching closely. It is important to Texas, and to our Country!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

On Sunday, state Senator Charles Schwertner announced that the bill was headed to Governor Greg Abbott’s desk. He also expressed gratitude to President Trump for his strong support of the bill.
