President Trump returned to New York City on Monday for the continuation of an ongoing criminal trial, fresh on the heels of a monstrous mega “MAGA” rally on the Jersey Shore over the weekend.
Monday’s trial highlighted the testimony of embattled ex-lawyer Michael Cohen, who played a central role in the alleged “hush money” payment that was issued to Stormy Daniels many years ago.
Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison in 2018 for multiple offenses, including tax evasion and making false statements to Congress, per Politico. Despite his prior convictions, Cohen has nevertheless been touted as a star witness by the prosecution in this “hush money” case against Trump.
“This all comes from Biden and the White House, by the way,” Trump told reporters on Monday morning, ahead of Cohen’s testimony.
He continued, “They have their top people here because he can’t put two sentences together – he’s the worst president in the history of our country. He can’t speak, can’t walk off a helicopter, can’t walk off a plane, can’t walk off a stage. And the only way they think they can win is if they can do something with Trump.”
Despite the lawfare raging in NYC and beyond against President Trump, he is polling higher than ever against Joe Biden. A new poll from The New York Times/Siena College found that Trump is leading by wide margins in critical battleground states like Arizona, Michigan, Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Even with Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in the race for the White House, the NYT poll found that Trump’s lead in those key states held steady. In Nevada, for example, he held a 14-point lead over Biden, with RFK Jr. taking 11 percent of the vote.
In Arizona, Trump held a nine-point lead, and in Georgia, his lead held solid at eight points. Even in Pennsylvania – a hard state to win for Republicans – Trump was ahead by four points.
