President Donald Trump and other Republican leaders blasted the New York Times this week after the paper announced that the Hunter Biden emails were “authenticated.”
After the outlet published an article about Hunter Biden on Wednesday, Republicans quickly pointed out their hypocrisy. During the 2020 presidential election, the New York Times and other liberal news sources dismissed the Hunter Biden story based on their fact checks. However, a year and a half later, the outlet finally admitted that Hunter Biden’s emails were real.
In their story, the New York Times wrote:
“Prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden, Mr. Archer and others about Burisma and other foreign business activity. Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.”
Responding to the news, President Trump said, “The New York Times just admitted that it participated to rig the election for Joe Biden.”
Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich stated, “The Fake News covered it all up during a presidential election, which may be an even bigger crime than the contents of the laptop.” He continued saying it’s well past “time for the truth.”
Fox News contributor Miranda Devine explained the liberal media hid the truth “because they wanted Donald Trump to lose the 2020 election. So all journalistic ethics and standards went out the window.”
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., tweeted his response, saying, “The New York Times admits what we’ve known for years: the Hunter Biden laptop story was true. Big tech’s censorship of this story was a disgrace.”
The 45th president’s warnings about Big Tech and the Fake News media have proven true once again. Although the media initially discredited Trump’s questions and statements regarding Hunter Biden’s business deals, they finally admitted the truth.
In the aftermath of these revelations, Republicans are demanding answers. Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., pointed out that the confirmation of the New York Times should have dramatic implications for Joe Biden.
She wrote, “Now that the New York Times has even confirmed the Hunter Biden laptop’s veracity, can we begin to admit that Joe Biden is, by definition, a compromised politician?”
