President Donald Trump applauded the news that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filed a formal complaint against CBS over the editing of “60 Minutes” involving a response by Vice President Kamala Harris.
The move comes following strong feedback from Trump and other conservative leaders concerned over the alleged biased censoring of the vice president’s interview.
“This is so great. There is NO WAY THEY CAN EXPLAIN AWAY THIS FRAUD!” Trump wrote on Truth Social alongside a report from Just the News.
Center for American Rights President Daniel Suhr also addressed concerns about CBS during a statement shared with Fox News.
“This isn’t just about one interview or one network,” CAR president Daniel Suhr said in the statement. “This is about the public’s trust in the media on critical issues of national security and international relations during one of the most consequential elections of our time.
“When broadcasters manipulate interviews and distort reality, it undermines democracy itself. The FCC must act swiftly to restore public confidence in our news media,” he added.
The Trump campaign has called for the release of the full unedited interview transcript.
“I’ve never seen this before, but the producers of 60 Minutes sliced and diced (‘cut and pasted’) Lyin’ Kamala’s answers to questions, which were virtually incoherent, over and over again, some by as many as four times in a single sentence or thought, all in an effort, possibly illegal as part of the ‘News Division,’ which must be licensed, to make her look ‘more Presidential,’ or a least, better,” Trump wrote.
“It may also be a major Campaign Finance Violation. This is a stain on the reputation of 60 Minutes that is not recoverable – It will always remain with this once storied brand. I have never heard of such a thing being done in ‘News.’ It is the very definition of FAKE NEWS! The public is owed a MAJOR AND IMMEDIATE APOLOGY! This is an open and shut case, and must be investigated, starting today!” he added.
