Trump asks Americans ‘DO YOU MISS ME YET’ as gas prices soar

In a tweet released Tuesday, President Donald Trump reminded Americans of the sharp contrast in gas prices under the Trump administration and the Biden administration.

The 45th president’s statement was released by spokeswoman Liz Harrington, saying in all capital letters, “BREAKING NEWS: HIGHEST GAS PRICES IN HISTORY! DO YOU MISS ME YET?”

On Monday, the average price for a gallon of gasoline across the United States rose to a new record high of $4.104. Gas prices are currently averaging over $5 a gallon at the pump in California, and prices are only going up.

Polls released Monday revealed that most Americans favor increasing American energy production to reduce the unbelievably high gas prices.

Even Tesla CEO Elon Musk has pressured the Biden administration to increase American energy production. He recently tweeted, “Hate to say it, but we need to increase oil & gas output immediately.” He added, “Extraordinary times demand extraordinary measures.”

During his 2020 presidential election campaign, Trump warned Americans that gas prices would surge under Joe Biden. He warned that the climate change policies of the far left would drive gas prices up way past $5 a gallon, which is what gas predictions are now forecasting.

Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., has echoed Trump’s statements on the importance of energy independence. “We have seen a 50% increase in energy prices since President Biden took office, and the Russian war in Ukraine will only cause these prices to climb,” he said. “Instead of flipping the switch and saying yes to American energy, the President is inexplicably doubling down on failed strategies. We need to readjust our entire thinking with the understanding that energy security is national security.”

While the Biden administration refuses to revive America’s oil and gas industry, Americans continue to suffer under Biden’s economy. The Keystone XL pipeline that Biden shut down on his first day in office remains an option that Republican representatives are currently pressuring the Biden administration to reconsider.

Now, with previously unimaginable gas prices, most Americans would probably answer yes to Trump’s question. Americans certainly miss paying less than $2 for a gallon of gas.

The 2022 midterms could be a reckoning for the Democrat Party if Biden continues to allow Americans to suffer at the gas pump instead of unleashing America’s potential to be energy independent.
