The national average for gas prices once again reached a record high on Tuesday, leaving Americans crushed under unprecedented levels of inflation, energy costs, food prices, baby formula shortages, and housing costs.
According to AAA, the national average for a regular gallon of gasoline is now $4.374. Fox Business explained a major contributing factor to Tuesday’s gas price increase is the European Union’s decision to place sanctions on Russian oil.
Even before Tuesday’s news, Breitbart reported Monday that Democrat-controlled states such as Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania had already reached “all-time high” gas prices.
Under the policies of Democrat lawmakers, America has become dependent on foreign energy and oil production. Despite their best efforts, they have been unsuccessful in reducing gas prices. The Biden administration announced in March that 180 million barrels of oil would be released from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Nevertheless, the prices at the pump continue to skyrocket.
The high increase in energy costs has caused a downward spiral for the American economy, especially when combined with unprecedented levels of inflation.
President Donald Trump responded to the news of record-breaking gasoline prices, saying, “Gas prices have just hit an all time HIGH.” He explained that the major price increase on gas is the “equivalent of a massive tax hike on America!”
Amid Biden’s discouraging inflation and rising energy costs, Trump offered hope for the future. In another post on Truth Social, he said, “Republicans are looking to, and will, Lower Taxes and Energy Prices for America, at unprecedented levels.” He added, “Also, and importantly, the Trump Tax Cuts must be extended.”
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, also responded to the news of gas prices increasing under the Biden administration. He said that under Biden, “Gas prices have just hit an all-time high.” Cruz also said, “This is caused by his embrace of the radical Green New-Deal zealots.”
