President Donald Trump took issue with vice presidential candidate Tim Walz’s response during the vice presidential debate after Walz stated, “I’ve become friends with school shooters.”
The 45th President posted to Truth Social, questioning the statement and noting, “He isn’t even qualified to be Governor, let alone Vice President. Walz and Kamala DO NOT HAVE WHAT IT TAKES!”
He then highlighted Andrew Pollack’s response on X. Pollack’s daughter was a victim of the Parkland school shooting and called Walz’s comment “abhorrent” and “disqualifying.”
Walz later repeated the concerning statement, leading Trump to call him out again.
Trump continued in another post, stating, “Walz made a very big mistake on gun shooters. Does anyone think he knows what he said?”
“Will he have a News Conference after the Debate to apologize to the parents and others who were so horribly hurt?” he added.
He also questioned why none of the corporate media addressed this statement or followed up with it.
Walz was discussing his previous support of gun rights and the National Rifle Association when he made the statements.
The Trump campaign posted a clip of Walz being asked to clarify what he meant by the statement after the debate. Walz refused the opportunity and ignored reporters.
