President Donald Trump breathed new life into CNN this week during his anticipated town hall event on Wednesday, pulling in millions of viewers and providing endless viral internet clips for MAGA supporters online.

On Truth Social, Trump explained, “People are criticizing CNN for giving me a Forum to tell the TRUTH. I believe it was a very smart thing that they did, with Sky High Ratings that they haven’t seen in a very long time. It was by far the biggest Show of the night, the week, and the month!”

According to The Hill, CNN scored 3.3 million viewers during Wednesday’s town hall with the president, which is at least three times the number of CNN average viewers during the 8:00 p.m. timeslot.

Trump continued, “The Radical Left screamed, ‘Take it down, take it down,’ during the Show, because they saw that I was making so many important points on the Border, Energy Independence, the Afghanistan Catastrophe, Inflation, the Economy, Russia-Ukraine, and so much more.”

Interestingly, CNN appeared to have invoked a so-called “Mercy Rule” on Wednesday night when they cut the town hall short by at least 20 minutes. RSBN reported that the program had been scheduled to run for 90 minutes, but CNN anchor and host Kaitlan Collins abruptly ended the town hall at around 70 minutes.

“Many minds were changed on Wednesday night by listening to Common Sense, and sheer ‘Brilliance,’” Trump added.

The president came out swinging during the town hall, fielding a range of questions ranging from border security to the war in Eastern Europe. “If I’m president, I will have that war settled in one day – 24 hours,” Trump told the crowd.

Trump’s return to the CNN stage was the first time he had appeared on the network since his initial run for the presidency in 2016.
