President Donald Trump was greeted at Wednesday’s CNN Townhall with a standing ovation from the crowd, drawing cheers and applause from those in attendance all night.
As the president forges ahead toward 2024, his energy was electric as he answered questions about foreign policy, the economy, Jan. 6, and the war in Ukraine.
Trump offered solutions to the catastrophe unfolding in Eastern Europe, noting that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine never would have happened if he were president.
“We have to get that war settled,” he said, calling for peace. He said he wanted Ukrainians and Russians to stop getting killed and prioritized the importance of halting the violence.
The president also fearlessly told the audience that the election was “rigged,” despite the protestations of the mainstream CNN host. “Look, we have to have honest elections in our country,” he said.
Trump consistently drew cheers, whistles, and applause from the crowd all night, demonstrating his power as the leading GOP candidate in the 2024 presidential race.
