President Trump is once again calling out the weaponization of the Department of Justice. After his historic indictment and arraignment, he is now urging Congress to defund both the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

He posted to Truth Social about this, noting how the Democrats are abusing their power.

“Republicans in Congress should defund the DOJ and FBI until they come to their senses,” he wrote. “The Democrats have totally weaponized law enforcement in our country and are viciously using this abuse of power to interfere with our already under siege elections!”

Concerns over a growing two-tier justice system have been raised in recent years.

In 2020, millions of Americans watched as Democrat-backed rioters burned down cities and killed dozens of people in the name of George Floyd. Then after Jan. 6, the left claimed that a violent insurrection took place. However, recent video evidence reported on by Fox News host Tucker Carlson displayed a different, more peaceful narrative.

In 2021, Attorney General Merrick Garland ordered the FBI to investigate parents for domestic terrorism, per The Federalist, in wake of increased concerns regarding the implementation of critical race theory and gender theory being forced into schools by the Biden administration.

Most recently, Douglass Mackey was convicted of using a “scheme to deprive individuals of their constitutional right to vote,” according to the DOJ. This was due to his posting memes about texting to vote for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

Yet, Kristina Wong is a Democrat who did something similar, only she claimed that Trump supporters could vote in the 2016 Presidential election by text, and has faced no charges.

This is just the latest example of unfair application of the law among different political leanings. There have been several other recent weaponizations of the legal system in recent years.

Now, Trump is the first president to be indicted on charges that have already been investigated and failed to warrant a conviction in the past, and so he is calling on Republicans to defund the institutions which are displaying obvious bias against conservatives.
