The Trump campaign criticized Vice President Kamala Harris after a new report falsely alleges that she now supports the border wall.

Trump campaign National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt released the update following Tuesday’s Axios report.

“How much longer will the mainstream media allow Kamala Harris to hide and use staff to speak on her behalf? It’s DAY 37 of ZERO interviews and Kamala’s anonymous campaign sources are now claiming she supports President Trump’s border wall — this is a preposterous and false claim. Kamala’s RECORD proves she is pro-open border,” she wrote.

“She called the wall ‘un-American,’ a ‘waste of taxpayer money,’ ‘medieval,’ and said it isn’t going to ‘stop’ illegal immigration,” Leavitt continued.

The statement noted policies by Harris as both a California senator and as border czar under President Joe Biden.

“As a senator, Kamala tried to block President Trump’s construction of the border wall. As Border Czar, Kamala Harris halted construction of the border wall. Kamala’s ACTIONS speak much louder than the WORDS of the anonymous staff she is cowering behind,” the statement concluded.

Trump’s campaign also released a campaign ad to social media on Tuesday attacking the border policies held by Harris.

“Kamala Harris is WEAK. Kamala Harris is FAILED. Kamala Harris is DANGEROUSLY LIBERAL,” a post read alongside the new ad on X.

The Tuesday report by Axios claimed, “If she’s elected president, Kamala Harris pledges to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the wall along the southern border — a project she once opposed and called “un-American” during the Trump administration.”

The outlet also noted, “It’s the latest example of Harris flip-flopping on her past liberal positions such as supporting Medicare of All and banning fracking — proposals that aides say she now is against.”

Despite the reporting by Axios, Harris has now gone 38 days without sitting down for a press conference or extended interview since announcing her run for president.

Under the Biden-Harris administration, more than 10 million people have crossed the southern border, a number greater than the individual populations of 41 states. The policies are a strong contrast with the Trump administration’s policies which included building hundreds of miles of a border wall to reduce illegal immigration.
