President Donald Trump celebrated a big week of Supreme Court rulings that handed conservatives a slate of long-awaited victories on issues like religious freedom, college admissions, and student loan forgiveness.
While delivering remarks to the Moms for Liberty: Joyful Warrior National Summit, Trump heralded the court’s decision to end race-based college admissions in their Thursday decision that deemed affirmative action unconstitutional.
On Thursday, SCOTUS struck down the decades-old race-based admissions protocol in a suit involving Harvard University and the University of North Carolina.
Trump joked that this might mean the kids “will get report cards again.”
He added, “If you’ve worked hard, gotten fantastic marks…somebody that hasn’t done nearly as well, who perhaps has not worked as hard, will not be taking your place.”
President Trump also touched on the Supreme Court’s ruling on Friday to strike down Joe Biden’s proposed student loan forgiveness plan, which would have cost American taxpayers billions of dollars.
He said it “would have been very unfair to the millions and millions of people who have paid their debt through hard work and diligence.”
President Trump called the decision a “great day for America” on Truth Social, shortly after the news broke. “People with extraordinary ability and everything else necessary for success, including future greatness for our Country, are finally being rewarded,” he added.
