President Trump urged the Department of Justice to immediately “release the documents related to the unAmerican, unwarranted, and unnecessary raid and break-in of my home in Palm Beach, Florida, Mar-a-Lago,” he wrote in a statement on Truth Social late Thursday night.
Not only will Trump “not oppose the release of documents,” but he said he is also “going one step further by ENCOURAGING the immediate release of those documents, even though they have been drawn up by radical left Democrats and possible future political opponents, who have a strong and powerful vested interest in attacking me, much as they have done for the last 6 years…”
His call on the DOJ to release warrant details comes after Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland announced in a press conference Thursday that the agency filed a motion to unseal the search warrant used to raid Mar-a-Lago on Monday night. During the same press conference, Garland revealed he “personally” approved the warrant to raid Trump’s private residence.
The 45th president reminded Americans in his statement that his “poll numbers are the strongest they have ever been, fundraising by the Republican Party is breaking all records, and midterm elections are fast approaching.”
Since leaving the White House, Trump has only gained in popularity among voters. The most recent example of his growing favorability was CPAC’s 2022 straw poll earlier this month. He absolutely dominated the poll, receiving 69 percent of support in a netting hypothetical 2024 presidential primary matchup. Trump also garnered a 99 percent approval rating among survey respondents.
Despite his immense post-White House popularity, the Democrats continue their unrelenting attacks on the 45th president.
“The unprecedented political weaponization of law enforcement is inappropriate and highly unethical,” Trump continued. “The world is watching as our Country is being brought to a new low, not only on our border, crime, economy, energy, national security, and so much more, but also with respect to our sacred elections!”
“Release the documents now!” he added in a subsequent Truth Social post.
