On the steps of his Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida, President Trump told supporters on Thursday that he doesn’t care if Nikki Haley stays in the race.
President Trump made the comments during a press conference addressing the arguments heard by the Supreme Court aired Thursday on RSBN.
A reporter asked him, “Do you know why Nikki Haley is still in the race when you’re dominating in the polls?” Before answering the question, President Trump smiled and replied, “I love that question. Thank you very much.”
In response to the question, President Trump answered, “I don’t know why she continues. But let her continue.” He explained, “We have a big one coming up, as you know, in South Carolina. The polls are indicating that we’re through the roof in that one.”
Many Americans have been asking themselves this question. With such a wide gap between President Trump and Haley, the 45th president is almost running unopposed. A recent poll shared by InteractivePolls indicated President Trump was ahead of Haley by an impressive 62 points.
Despite that South Carolina is Haley’s home state, she appears set to lose to President Trump. A survey shared by Fox News shows 58 percent of voters chose President Trump over Haley,
President Trump explained his thoughts about her persistence in the primary race: “I think she hurts herself, but I think she hurts the party and, in a way, hurts the country.”
In closing, President Trump added, “I don’t know why she continues” and “You know, I don’t really care if she continues. I think it’s bad for the party. I think it’s actually bad for her, too.”
