Trump explains how Gaza strip takeover would look: ‘No soldiers by the U.S. would be needed!’

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump announced his intention to take over the Gaza strip while delivering a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which drew questions from some who wondered how such a thing would be possible with out United States military intervention.

“The U.S. will take over the Gaza strip…and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous, unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site,” he said on Tuesday.

On Thursday, he expanded on his statement and noted that such a takeover would not require military intervention, assuaging concerns from some critics who worried that “boots on the ground” would be necessary to bring peace to the embattled region.

Trump explained with a bit of humor on Truth Social, “The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting. The Palestinians, people like Chuck Schumer, would have already been resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region.”

The potential resettlement of the Palestinian people has been a frequent topic with President Trump lately. He said other countries would be willing to resettle those who lay claim to the strip, and insisted strongly that both Jordan and Egypt would eventually agree to help provide homes for those living in the war-torn region.

President Trump continued in his statement, “They would actually have a chance to be happy, safe, and free. The U.S., working with great development teams from all over the World, would slowly and carefully begin the construction of what would become one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth.”

He assured Americans that “No soldiers by the U.S. would be needed! Stability for the region would reign!!!”

Violence has been an ongoing problem between Israel and Palestinians due to the territorial dispute over the Gaza strip.

President Trump seems to firmly believe that removing Palestinians from the area would facilitate a stopgap to the violence.

Earlier this week, he explained that he envisioned an “economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area” in Gaza.

Trump’s plan would also work in tandem with Prime Minister Netanyahu’s stated three-pronged goals for Israel: eliminate Hamas, secure the release of any remaining hostages, and guarantee that Gaza will never again pose a threat to his country.
