President Donald Trump has a plan to deport millions of unvetted illegal migrants who have poured across the border under the listless leadership of Joe Biden’s administration.
In a prospective 2025 presidency, Trump would “immediately” begin deporting illegal entrants by utilizing a strategy that is similar to what the late President Dwight Eisenhower enacted in the 1950s – but with noted improvements.
During an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Trump explained, “People don’t know that Dwight Eisenhower was a pretty tough president – I never thought of him as that but…he was a big de-porter, and he would deport tremendous numbers of people, and they’d bring them just to the other side of the border and they’d come back.”
He said that it was only when the migrants were dropped off thousands of miles away that they “didn’t come back.”
Trump continued, “We have no choice, and the way you do it is your local police. We have the greatest police, and they don’t get the respect that they have to get. They are treated so badly.”
Trump has previously laid out the details of the deportation operation that he plans on implementing upon reentering the Oval Office if he wins in 2024. He has hinted at invoking the colonial-era Alien Enemies Act, which would give him the authority as president to remove dangerous or anti-American non-citizens living on U.S. soil.
The president pointed out that much of the deportation effort will be carried out by the local police.
He said, “They understand who these migrants are…they know where they come from, they know everything about them. It’s going to be the local police, they’re going to turn them over, and we’re going to have to move them back to their country.”
Trump will also “terminate” the open border policies of the Biden administration and reinstate his own Trump-era tried-and-true border security policies like “Remain in Mexico.”
