President Donald Trump delivered a dose of fun Americana in the heart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday afternoon, where he unveiled collectible gold shoes at Sneaker Con to an eager crowd of “Sneakerheads” and MAGA supporters.
“Thank you very much,” he told the crowd.
He was greeted with huge enthusiasm among the audience – many of whom were young people. The president spoke for only a few minutes, but he made them count.
“I’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” Trump said of the collectible footwear. “…I’ve been talking about it for 12 years, 13 years…I think it’s going to be a big success.”
He held a pair of gleaming gold sneakers up on stage, calling them the “real deal” and encouraging the young people to “go out and vote.”
Trump added, “We’ve got to get young people out to VOTE…we’re going to turn this country around FAST.”
The president called his newest capitalistic ventured “all part of Americana, it’s part of our country.”
He said he was honored to attend the convention and noted that he would now head to Michigan for tonight’s rally.
“I just want to thank you very much for being here, it’s an honor,” he concluded.
President Trump’s sneakers are now available for pre-order. According to his official website, only 1,000 “Never Surrender” High Tops will be sold. There are also at least two other sneakers available – gold and white – as well as Trump cologne and perfume.
