President Donald Trump characterized Judge Juan Merchan, the New York magistrate who refused to delay the supposed “hush money” case, as a man who is stricken by “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Taking to Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump posted, “Judge Juan Merchan, a very distinguished looking man, is nevertheless a true and certified Trump Hater who suffers from a very serious case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.” The judge ruled on Monday that the trial date for the “hush money” case is set to begin on April 15th, 2024.
Rather than waiting until after the general election, Trump’s time will be occupied in the court during the election. The move is a form of “election interference,” according to the 45th president.
To make matters worse, the Manhattan judge has strong connections to Democrat political campaigns. Loren Merchan, the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan, is a far-left political consultant whose firm worked with top-level Democrats, including Joe Biden, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Blasting the obvious conflict of interest, Trump stated that the judge’s daughter “is a senior executive at a Super Liberal Democrat firm that works for Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, the Democrat National Committee, (Dem) Senate Majority PAC, and even Crooked Joe Biden.”
In a follow-up post, President Trump suggested that Judge Merchan should remove himself from the case to maintain the integrity of the trial.
“Judge Merchan should recuse himself, he cannot give me a fair trial,” stated Trump.
In addition, the Republican nominee argued for the case to be relocated for the sake of safeguarding the verdict from anti-Trump bias. “This political opponent trial should take place in Staten Island, with a new and unbiased judge,” added Trump.
The timing of the trial appears to be timely calculated as Trump suggests. “They could have filed more than three years ago – They waited!” Continuing, “This is another witch hunt for purposes of election interference,” said the 45th president.
