During campaign stops on Wednesday in the great state of Iowa, President Trump made his stance on Joe Biden’s border policy unmistakably clear.
The 45th president told a packed crowd in Dubuque, Iowa, that “A vote for President Trump means Joe Biden’s horror show at the southern border ends at noon on Inauguration Day 2025.” The crowd broke out in huge applause in response to Trump’s confident promise.
In prepared remarks released to the press, President Trump vowed to follow the Eisenhower Model to carry out a massive deportation operation, the largest in U.S. history.
He also intends to invoke the Alien Enemies Act to expel gang members, drug dealers, and cartel members from the U.S. as a way to combat gang violence “once and for all.” According to the New York Post, cartels are intentionally sending thousands of migrants per day to cross into the U.S.
“The way it’s being orchestrated through the cartels, I believe it’s meant to overwhelm the system. The [places] that are being impacted the most are border communities,” former El Paso City Councilmember Claudia Rodriquez told the New York Post.
Continuing to map out how he will secure the southern border, President Trump promised to “shift massive portions of federal law enforcement to immigration enforcement – including parts of the DEA, ATF, FBI, and DHS.”
“I will immediately terminate every open borders policy of the Biden administration,” said the 45th president.
Taking his strategy a step further, President Trump promised to involve the military.
His remarks stated that he would “use any and all resources needed to stop the invasion,” even “moving thousands of troops currently stationed overseas to our OWN southern border. Before we defend the borders of foreign countries, we must secure the border of OUR country.”
In the same vein, his remarks included a vow to “deploy the U.S. Navy to impose a full Fentanyl Blockade on the waters of our region,” involving “boarding and inspecting ships to look for fentanyl and fentanyl precursors.” Further, Trump planned to tell Iowans that he would not only bring back the “travel ban,” but he would also “expand it even further to keep Radical Islamic Terrorists out of our country.”
Acknowledging that the open southern border is a gaping problem that must be addressed as soon as possible, President Trump shifted his focus to Congress.
He called on Congress to “BAN Joe Biden from using a single taxpayer dollar to release or resettle illegal aliens into the United States effective September 30th.”
“Now is the time for action,” he added.
