President Donald Trump reacted on Wednesday after the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas following the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks.

Trump shared the statement on his Truth Social account, claiming victory over the news.

“This EPIC ceasefire agreement could have only happened as a result of our Historic Victory in November, as it signaled to the entire World that my Administration would seek Peace and negotiate deals to ensure the safety of all Americans, and our Allies. I am thrilled American and Israeli hostages will be returning home to be reunited with their families and loved ones,” he wrote.

“With this deal in place, my National Security team, through the efforts of Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, will continue to work closely with Israel and our Allies to make sure Gaza NEVER again becomes a terrorist safe haven. We will continue promoting PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH throughout the region, as we build upon the momentum of this ceasefire to further expand the Historic Abraham Accords. This is only the beginning of great things to come for America, and indeed, the World!” Trump continued.

Trump also spoke about his administration’s future efforts upon his return to the White House starting Monday.

“We have achieved so much without even being in the White House. Just imagine all of the wonderful things that will happen when I return to the White House, and my Administration is fully confirmed, so they can secure more Victories for the United States!” he concluded.

Last month, Trump spoke out concerning Israeli hostages in Gaza on Monday, calling for their release and saying there will be “ALL HELL TO PAY” if change does not occur before he takes office.

Trump shared the strong words in a post on Truth Social that called for the release of hostages held by Hamas terrorists since the group’s attacks on Israel on Oct. 7, 2021.

“Everybody is talking about the hostages who are being held so violently, inhumanely, and against the will of the entire World, in the Middle East – But it’s all talk, and no action!” Trump began.

“Please let this TRUTH serve to represent that if the hostages are not released prior to January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume Office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against Humanity. Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied History of the United States of America. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW!” he added.
