As a hurricane of politically fueled cases swirl around President Trump, he took to Truth Social over the last week to slam the special prosecutor assigned to oversee the investigation into the so-called “classified” documents seized at Mar-a-Lago by the FBI last summer.
“The Special ‘Prosecutor,’ Jack Smith, who is harassing, threatening, and terrorizing people who work for me, probably illegally, and totally at odds with the way Crooked Joe Biden is being treated, will no longer be known as the Special ‘Prosecutor,’ but rather, the Special ‘Persecutor,’” he wrote.
Jack Smith’s appointment by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland came in 2022, shortly following the FBI’s unprecedented raid on the 45th president’s private residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
The raid on Trump’s home was reportedly launched to seize what the DOJ suspected was “classified documents.” Despite deflections from the Biden administration that they had no knowledge of the raid beforehand, RSBN revealed that in early April, America First Legal released a report presenting evidence that strongly suggested that the Biden administration was involved, as illustrated by an exhumed “special access” request for NARA records made on behalf of the Biden DOJ.
RSBN previously reported that Smith had formerly worked for the Obama-era IRS, allegedly targeting Tea Party patriot groups. The scandal was investigated by the House Oversight Committee in 2015.
Trump continued, “He is a Trump Hating SLIMEBALL who is going far beyond the original instructions of the Department of Injustice. The Witch Hunt continues, as it always will, with the Radical Left, Country Destroying, Lunatics!”
He added, “All of these Fake Prosecutions are merely being done to Interfere with, and Influence, our Elections. It is a dangerous time in America!!!”
In November 2022, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, pegged Jack Smith as a political appointment on the case, tweeting, “Jack Smith was looking for ways to prosecute the innocent Americans Lois Lerner targeted during the IRS scandal. And people think him serving as special counsel won’t be political?”
