President Donald Trump set the record straight on Friday about a wild “Fake News” rumor that recently resurfaced about his former vice president.

The 45th president wrote on Truth Social, “I NEVER said, or even thought of saying, ‘Hang Mike Pence.’ This is either a made up story by somebody looking to become a star, or FAKE NEWS!”

Mike Pence has garnered considerable ire from Trump supporters. During a pivotal moment amid the battle for the 2020 election in January 2021, Pence certified the 2020 presidential election results despite rampant reports of widespread voter fraud.

On Thursday, Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., made absurd accusations about President Trump during the Jan. 6 Committee’s dramatic televised hearing to investigate the media-labeled “insurrection” that took place at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

According to a report from the New York Post, Cheney claimed in a statement that President Trump allegedly agreed with Washington D.C. protesters calling to hang Mike Pence. However, Trump staunchly denied this.

In January 2022, President Trump argued that it was within Pence’s power to “overturn” the 2020 election results in light of the disturbing reports of fraud.

“If the Vice President (Mike Pence) had ‘absolutely no right’ to change the Presidential Election results in the Senate, despite fraud and many other irregularities, how come the Democrats and RINO Republicans, like Wacky Susan Collins, are desperately trying to pass legislation that will not allow the Vice President to change the results of an election?” Trump stated.

Unfortunately for Cheney, her role on the Jan. 6 Committee and her constant attacks on the 45th president have not gained her any points with the voting public.

According to a recent Club for Growth PAC poll from WPA Intelligence, a survey of 400 primary voters in Wyoming showed Trump-endorsed GOP candidate Harriet Hageman leading Cheney by a staggering 30 points ahead of the primary.
