President Trump took a shot at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) on Saturday evening, calling out him out for traveling the country on the presidential campaign trail despite being elected to serve four more years in the Sunshine State’s gubernatorial office.
“He should be here representing himself,” Trump said, drawing agreeing responses from a crowd of electric young conservatives.
Trump’s remarks were delivered in West Palm Beach, Florida, at the Turning Point Action Conference.
“We want him to get home and take care of insurance,” Trump continued, pressing the governor to abandon the campaign trail and serve the Floridian people.
Trump was referring to the ongoing housing and insurance rate crisis happening in Florida this year, according to Politico.
Trump additionally slammed DeSantis for splitting Republican support ahead of the 2024 presidential election, calling on the GOP to fund “state-of-the-art vote-gathering operation” to “swamp” the Democrats’ attempts at election interference.
Trump continued, “Instead, DeSanctus and his establishment handlers are wasting precious resources to divide our party right when we should be uniting against the unprecedented weaponization of law enforcement by crooked Joe Biden and the Communist left.”
President Trump also touched on the important responsibility that America’s youth had in reclaiming American liberty. He declared, “…YOU are the ones who are going to take back America, and you are the ones who are going to make America great again!”
