As the 2024 elections draw closer, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump teased last week the timeline for his potential running mate announcement.

Both Republicans and Democrats have been curious to know who and when Trump will announce his ticket for this year. However, little was released on the issue until a recent campaign rally in Milwaukee last week.

“I’ll be picking, but probably not too much before the convention, which I happen to be having in the great state of Wisconsin,” Trump told FOX 6 Milwaukee.

The Republican National Convention (RNC), which is typically when the vice presidential pick speaks to the delegates, will be held this year in Milwaukee from July 15-18, according to MSN.

Speculation on who the 45th president may pick has been speculation for some time now, though a rumored list is alleged to include names such as Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, Gov. Doug Burgum, R-N.D., and Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., according to the New York Magazine.

During a January Fox News town hall discussion in Iowa, Trump revealed that he knew who his pick would be after being asked by a moderator on the issue.

“Let me just ask you a follow up on that about who would be in your cabinet – in your administration. If you are the nominee, which I know you expect to be, who would be in the running for vice president?” Fox moderator Martha MacCallum questioned.

“Well, I can’t tell you that really. I mean, I know who it’s going to be,” Trump teased.
