President Donald Trump slammed the Manhattan district attorney’s case against him during post-arraignment remarks delivered at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday evening, just hours after he appeared in court in New York and strongly pleaded not guilty to an astronomical 34 felony charges from the Manhattan DA.
“Thank you very much everybody we have to save our country, God bless you all,” he told the crowd, greeted by chants of “USA” as he took the stage. “…I never thought anything like this could happen in America. Never thought it could happen. The only crime I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it.”
He reminded the audience, “From the beginning the Democrats spied on my campaign, remember that.”
Trump took a swing at the duplicity of the justice system, decrying the complete refusal of the DOJ and the FBI to take a look at the Hunter Biden laptop, while instead chasing after President Trump.
He pointed out the political agenda of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, whom Trump said campaigned to “get President Trump.”
“And this before he knew anything about me, he was campaigning…as it turns out virtually everybody who has looked at this case…say there is no crime and that it should never have been brought.”
He concluded that the Manhattan case was only being brought to “interfere with the 2024 election and it should be dropped immediately.”
