President Donald Trump is expected to hold a rally-style event in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 19, just one day ahead of his inauguration.
The location is set for Capital One Arena, the home of the NBA’s Washington Wizards and the NHL’s Washington Capitals, according to a report first shared by CBS News.
The “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. ET, according to a sign-up link from the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee, the report stated.
The arena can hold up to 20,000 people.
Trump’s inauguration as the 47th president is set to take place on the next day, including a parade in Washington, D.C. The event will mark the 60th presidential inauguration.
Vice President JD Vance will also be inaugurated. The event will mark the 50th swearing in of a vice president.
Tuesday, Jan. 21, will also include a National Prayer Service at the Washington National Cathedral.
The events come as Trump has promised a long list of America First priorities beginning his first day, including a vow to secure the nation’s borders and begin mass deportations.
“On Day One, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out,” Trump said at his Madison Square Garden rally on Oct. 28. “I will rescue every city and town that has been invaded and conquered, and we will put these vicious and bloodthirsty criminals in jail, then kick them the hell out of our country as fast as possible.”
Trump has also promised to end the “green new scam,” rolling back the Biden administration’s electric vehicle mandate.
“On Day One of the Trump administration, I will terminate Kamala’s insane electric vehicle mandate, and we will end the green new scam once and for all. The green new scam will end,” Trump said at a rally in October.
Trump has also spoken out on pardoning many Americans convicted over Jan. 6, 2021. It is unclear how soon this action will take place, though he has suggested doing so during his first day in office.
