President Donald Trump made internet history this week alongside former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, racking up an incredible 200 million views and counting on their exclusive sit-down interview posted on X on Wednesday night.
The interview was initially posted at 8:55 pm ET on Wednesday. By 12:00 pm ET on Thursday, the video had surpassed 200 million views.
Trump’s sit-down interview with Carlson was a strategic move that pulled attention away from the first Republican presidential primary debate in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. In fact, the interview was posted just five minutes before the debate was scheduled to begin.
The Trump campaign called the president’s interview with Carlson an illustration of “dominating” victory.
“Tonight, voters saw a clear contrast between President Trump engaging in a thoughtful policy discussion about what his second term will look like versus 90-second canned sound bites and platitudes from the debate stage,” Trump senior advisor Susie Wiles stated.
Just a few hours before the video surpassed 200 million views, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “The Tucker Carlson Interview with me was a BLOCKBUSTER. Could hit 200,000,000 Views, and more! Thank you! I hope it was enjoyed by everyone.”
Turning Point USA President Charlie Kirk remarked on X, “Tucker & Trump interview on X has eclipsed 200M views plus massive clipping audience. The primary debate on Fox News had around 20M tune in. 10X the views for Trump. The media landscape is forever changed.”
Earlier this week, Trump confirmed that he would not be attending the Republican primary debates in the 2024 election cycle, citing his dominating polling numbers and strong popularity among American voters.
He explained, “The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had, with Energy Independence, Strong Borders & Military, Biggest EVER Tax & Regulation Cuts, No Inflation, Strongest Economy in History, & Much more. I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES!”
