More research shows that President Donald Trump would decimate Joe Biden in a potential 2024 rematch.
In a Heartland Institute and Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey conducted in early January, Americans made it clear that they would vote for President Trump if the election were held today.
The poll shows that 46 percent of likely U.S. voters would vote for President Trump, while only 40 percent of voters would vote for Joe Biden.
While the poll found that the overwhelming majority of Republican voters would vote for President Trump, only three-quarters of Democrats would support Joe Biden’s reelection. This is a significant statistic to keep an eye on as the 2022 midterms approach.
Prior to this, a poll released in November indicated that a majority of Americans support Republicans taking back control of the House and Senate in the 2022 midterms. If Joe Biden’s appeal is waning in the Democrat Party, Republican victories in 2022 could be even greater than expected.
Perhaps the most devastating blow to Democrats in this latest poll is the erosion of support from independents.
Joe Biden benefitted from swaying independent voters with promises to end the pandemic, but his support among independent voters seems to have entirely disappeared. Rasmussen Reports found that 45 percent of independent voters would vote for Trump and only 29 percent of voters would vote for Joe Biden.
If these poll numbers are any indication of how voters will cast their ballots in the 2022 midterms, Republicans could see massive wins across the nation. American voters appear to regret the way they voted in 2020 and are ready to cast their ballots for candidates who support American values and freedoms.
The latest survey shows that Republicans currently enjoy a strong boost of momentum as the Biden administration’s policies continue to destroy the economy and go against American freedoms. Although Democrats and the mainstream media relentlessly tries to smear President Trump’s legacy, American voters are clearly keen to the fact that Biden’s policies are destroying progress made during the Trump administration.
Rasmussen also released new job approval numbers for Joe Biden on Tuesday. According to the latest poll, only 40 percent of voters approve of Joe Biden and 59 percent of voters disapprove of the job he is doing. As Americans continue to experience “voter’s remorse,” Biden’s numbers continue to sink. Biden’s disapproval rating certainly seems to have impacted Rasmussen’s survey concerning a Trump versus Biden rematch.
The Heartland Institute’s senior editor, Chris Talgo, explains, “Less than one year into his presidency, 52 percent of likely voters have an unfavorable impression of President Joe Biden. This is astounding, given the fact that the mainstream has given Biden the benefit of the doubt so often and glossed over his administration’s utter failures concerning the pandemic, inflation, foreign policy, et cetera.” He added, “It seems like American voters are experiencing a classic case of voter’s remorse.”
With the 2022 midterm elections on the horizon, all eyes will be turned toward President Trump and Joe Biden’s influence on key races in the House and Senate. If Rasmussen’s latest poll is any indication of how Americans will vote, Republicans could significantly benefit from President Trump’s endorsements, while Democrats could be at a disadvantage with Biden’s low approval ratings.
