President Donald Trump has committed to his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and stood by his promise to cut government waste.

On Tuesday, he signed an Executive Order to Remake America’s Federal Workforce. This DOGE workforce initiative is designed to optimize efficiency by shrinking the size of the federal workforce to only essential positions. It mandates that once President Trump’s hiring freeze is over, only one federal worker can be hired for every four that leave. Exceptions can be made for law enforcement, immigration and public safety workers.
The order notes that it was designed to “ significantly reduce the size of government,” and that, “The Office of Personnel Management will initiate a rulemaking to ensure federal employees are held to the highest standards of conduct.”
According to the order, “There are too many federal employees,” amounting to over 2.4 million workers that are employed by over 400 government agencies.
Excluding pensions, these federal government workers cost taxpayers $300 billion in 2022 alone, but only six percent of these federal government employees worked full-time and on location.
This action came after President Trump signed an executive order on Monday that eliminated the Federal Executive Institute. According to the order, this 50-year-old bureaucratic leadership training program “enlarged and entrenched Washington, D.C.’s managerial class.” It also owned a former luxury hotel that served as a resort for training courses.
The program was deemed ineffective and eliminating the institute will help President Trump end the government bureaucracy in Washington D.C.
RSBN reported that 60,000 federal workers have reportedly accepted an offer President Trump made to buy them out of their employment contracts to reduce the size of government and remove individuals who do not wish to work for his administration.
