Former Hawaiian Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard said during an interview on Monday that she would be “honored” to serve in a future Trump administration.

Gabbard shared the comments during an interview with Fox News Digital from a fundraising event in Atlanta, Georgia.

“There are a lot of people who I meet in a lot of different places every day who are former Democrats, or people who are leaving the Democratic Party,” Gabbard said.

“People who recognize the same things that I have and experienced the same things that I have and realize that the Democratic Party of today doesn’t stand for them, doesn’t stand for freedom, it doesn’t stand for civil liberties… doesn’t stand for peace,” she added.

Gabbard also applauded Trump for being willing to do the work of meeting with America’s adversaries.

“President Trump did in his last administration what President Obama refused to do, what President Biden refused to do, what Kamala Harris has made clear she refuses to do – which is to go out and do that tough work that a president and commander in chief has to do in diplomacy,” Gabbard said. “Not just hanging out with your friends, and your allies, and your partners, but actually going out and talking to your adversaries.”

Gabbard, also an Army veteran, made headlines last month when she formally endorsed Trump.

“This administration has us facing multiple wars on multiple fronts in regions around the world, and closer to the brink of nuclear war than we ever have been before,” Gabbard said.

“This is one of the main reasons why I am committed to doing all that I can to send President Trump back to the White House, where he can once again serve us as our commander-in-chief,” she continued.

Gabbard was later named an honorary co-chair of the Trump transition team. She also moderated a town hall with Trump in Wisconsin and has actively campaigned for the 45th president.

The former Democrat was also noted as a key part in helping Trump prepare for his recent debate with Harris.

“He knows the issues. He is very honed in on her [Kamala Harris’] record in reminding voters… ‘what have you done for the last three and a half years?’ You can paint this rosy picture about what you’re going to do, but we’re paying attention to what you’ve already done and how her policies have destroyed our economy, made us less safe, both here at home and abroad,” she told “FOX & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade ahead of the debate.
