Ultimate Fighting Champion CEO Dana White will speak before President Donald Trump’s presidential nomination during the Republican National Convention next Thursday.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the speaking slot on Wednesday, which is set to take place immediately before Trump’s official nomination in Milwaukee.

The convention’s lineup continues to add speaker announcements as delegates prepare to gather next week. Other confirmed speakers include New York congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The Trump campaign recently announced the daily themes of the convention, teasing highlights from conservative leaders and celebrities.

“From the beginning of President Donald J. Trump’s campaign to Make America Great Again, we’ve received an outpouring of support from everyday Americans who are ready to turn the page on the last four years of failure, disaster, and embarrassment at home and abroad. The 2024 Republican National Convention will showcase President Trump’s vision to turn our country around and launch our America First movement to victory come November,” campaign Senior Advisors Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita wrote in a statement.

“The 2024 Republican National Convention will undoubtedly continue to build the energy and momentum necessary to drive President Donald J. Trump to victory this fall. It’s no coincidence the Convention will lay out President Trump’s vision to restore America in Wisconsin – ground-zero on the road back to the White House,” they added.

White and Trump have long been friends. In an interview last month, the UFC leader spoke out on his behalf, calling Trump the “number one” fighter of all time.

“You take any of the greatest fighters of all time, Trump is number one. The most resilient human being that I have ever met in my life,” White told Fox News.

“Why keep doing this? You know, you’ve got money. You’ve got a great life. You’ve got whatever. Why keep doing this? And the one thing that I can tell you, and this is a fact, this guy loves this country and he loves all Americans,” he continued.

Last year, Trump jokingly told supporters he’d like to make White his Defense Chief.

“Dana White, you know Dana White? The great Dana White,” Trump told his supporters. “There’s a guy I’d like to make my defense chief.

“I wouldn’t call him my defense chief. I’d call him my offense chief. He’d be my offense chief. But he’s doing a great job.”

White is no stranger to the Republican National Convention. He also appeared as a speaker in 2016 and addressed the crowd during the final night of the COVID-limited 2020 convention.
