President Donald Trump ripped Democrats for opposing the deportation of MS-13 gang member Limar Armando Abrego Garcia, referring to the action as “unAmerican.”
The president shared the criticisms in a post to his Truth Social account on Sunday.
“Radical Lunatic Democrats and their Comrades in the Fake News Media are falsely making Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia out to be a very sweet and innocent person, which is a total, blatant, and dangerous LIE,” Trump wrote.
“Garcia has been found by two separate Courts to be a member of the violent, killer gang MS-13, was in our Country illegally, and is under a Deportation Order. It is despicable and unAmerican for Liberals and the Mainstream Media to hate our Country so much, and be obsessed with protecting criminals, instead of working to keep our Border, streets, and families safe. Those lying to the American People on behalf of violent criminals have to be held responsible by the Agencies and the Courts. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he added.
The latest post comes after the Trump administration recently announced record-low illegal crossings at the southern border in March, according to an update from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
“U.S. Border Patrol’s apprehensions along the southwest border for the entire month of March 2025 were lower than the first two days of March 2024,” said Pete Flores, Acting Commissioner of CBP.
“This is a testament to the tireless dedication and vigilant service of the men and women of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, who work every day to keep our country safe. Their commitment on the front lines plays a vital role in securing our borders and protecting American communities,” he added.
March marked the second month in a row that U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) recorded the lowest average daily apprehensions in its history, with an estimated 264 apprehensions per day. This figure is approximately twenty percent lower than the daily average of 330 in February and a sharp decline of ninety-four percent compared to the daily average of 4,488 in March 2024, according to the report.
Throughout March 2025, USBP apprehended 7,181 individuals who crossed the southwest border illegally between ports of entry. That total represents a fourteen percent drop from February 2025, when 8,346 were apprehended, and a ninety-five percent decrease from March 2024, when 137,473 individuals were taken into custody.
