The U.S. military will reportedly deploy counter-drone technology at the U.S.-Mexico southern border as part of the Pentagon’s overarching mission from President Donald Trump to secure the border and ensure American safety and sovereignty.

Some information about these plans was made public recently during a House Subcommittee hearing regarding drone activity over U.S. military operations, in which the topic of drone use in the American military became a focal point of the conversation.

Rear Admiral Paul Spedero’s testimony before the committee highlighted how rapidly the use of UAPs and drones has changed military operations and defense systems, and he argued that he believed the U.S. military had authority on the Southwest border to “engage UAS,” or unmanned aircraft systems.

According to DefenseScoop, the Pentagon is getting ready to deploy counter-drones as part of its ongoing operation to keep the southern border secure, especially as deadly cartels attempt to utilize the same advanced technology to surveil and assess U.S. troop movements.

This revelation builds on the reality that the U.S. military is quickly rising to meet the challenge of evolving technology.

According to the U.S. Army, soldiers in Fort Bliss, Texas, are creating parts needed to assemble drones to use on the border, as well as the tools necessary to repair and maintain them.

“This capability provides assets to unmanned aerial surveillance teams that multiplies their effectiveness in the field. If a drone breaks, they can pull out another and get it in the sky using parts we provide to quickly repair the other,” said Staff Sergeant Erik Buentello of Bravo Company, via the U.S. Army.

These advancements to secure the border hinge on President Trump’s executive actions ordering the Pentagon to take all necessary and lawful actions to do so, including the declaration of an emergency that has enabled him to take swift action to seal and secure it.

As reported by RSBN, Trump has strongly stood by his decision to maintain the state of emergency at the southern border, amid a nationwide deportation operation. “The big emergency right now is that we have thousands of people that we want to take out, and we have some judges that want everybody to go to court,” he stated.
