Vice President J.D. Vance strongly alleged during a new interview that Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., had committed immigration fraud, as the VP moves to crack down on fraud as the chairman of the new “Task Force to Eliminate Fraud.”

While speaking to podcaster Benny Johnson, Vice President Vance remarked, “We actually think that Ilhan Omar definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America. I talked to Stephen Miller about this, actually, recently – we’re trying to look at what the remedies are.”

Rep. Omar has long been accused of shady dealings by her political opponents. Omar originally hails from Somalia, and it has been alleged that she may have married her brother to gain citizenship in the United States, an allegation repeated by the president, as well, per RSBN.

To add fuel to the political fire, the state Omar represents – Minnesota – is at the center of a massive multi-billion-dollar government-linked and Somali community fraud scandal.

“What are the legal remedies now that we know that she’s committed immigration fraud?” Vance said of his discussion with Stephen Miller. “How do you go after her? How do you investigate her? How do you actually do the thing? How do you build a case to actually get some justice for the American people?”

And on the subject of Somali fraud in Minnesota, the vice president drew a straight line from the goings-on there and the possibility that Rep. Omar could somehow be involved.

“There’s a related issue, Benny, which is she has been at the center of a lot of the worst fraudsters in the Somali community,” Vance remarked. “So, do I know that Ilhan Omar was aware that the Quality Learing Center [sic] was defrauding the American people? I’m not certain of it, but we at least need to investigate it, because if people can commit wrongdoing without even the fear that they’re going to be found out, that’s a fundamental problem.”

The Minnesota “Quality Learing Center” was famously exposed by independent journalist Nick Shirley, who reported on its seemingly abandoned appearance, despite having received, allegedly, millions in government funding.

As reported by RSBN, the Trump administration froze $10 billion in childcare federal funding to five Democratic stronghold states, pending review of what these funds are being used for.

Rep. Omar’s status in Congress has been hotly debated due to the murky allegations of her immigration to the U.S., and earlier this year, Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., even moved to subpoena Omar over allegations of marrying her brother to secure lawful immigration status. However, Mace’s motion was blocked by both Democrats and Republicans in the House in January.

“I’m worried about the immigration fraud, I’m also worried about what did Ilhan Omar know about what was happening in the Somalian community, and why was nobody looking into it,” Vice President Vance concluded.
