The White House on Tuesday marked the fifth anniversary of the events of January 6, 2021, by publishing an extensive webpage filled with information regarding the protests at the U.S. Capitol and the media frenzy that came after.

“Since January 6, 2021, Nancy Pelosi spent over 3 years and nearly $20 million in taxpayer funds on her partisan Select Committee, producing a scripted TV spectacle to fabricate an ‘insurrection’ narrative and pin all blame on President Trump,” the site read.

Many Americans likely recall the years of Jan 6 Select Committee hearings and investigations that ultimately yielded little to no real information about the events of that day.

“The Democrats masterfully reversed reality after January 6, branding peaceful patriotic protesters as ‘insurrectionists’ and framing the event as a violent coup attempt orchestrated by Trump—despite no evidence of armed rebellion or intent to overthrow the government,” the White House site argued.

The page included a video of Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., discussing the events of Jan 6, along with a detailed timeline of how the day played out, from the president’s speech at the Ellipse to the shooting of unarmed Air Force veteran Ashli Babbit.

Also highlighted on the site was the president’s fulfillment of a campaign promise, whereby he pardoned almost 1,600 January 6 protesters on his first day back in office in 2025 – those who were “prosecuted for their presence at the Capitol – many mere trespassers or peaceful protestors treated as insurrectionists by a weaponized Biden DOJ.”

Tuesday’s anniversary of the event was a stark contrast to the day itself, when thousands of Americans descended upon D.C. as Joe Biden’s inauguration loomed large on the horizon.

Now, President Donald Trump is back in the White House, and things are a little different.

“They are vicious people,” the president said of Rep. Pelosi and the Democrats on Tuesday, during remarks this week at a GOP House retreat.

On the White House webpage, it ultimately argued that the “real insurrection” of January 6, 2021, was the Democrats who weaponized government and failed to take necessary security measures:

“In truth, it was the Democrats who staged the real insurrection by certifying a fraud-ridden election, ignoring widespread irregularities, and weaponizing federal agencies to hunt down dissenters, all while Pelosi’s own security lapses invited the chaos they later exploited to seize and consolidate power.”
