CNN has released surprising news on where President Trump stands with voters. In a Tuesday appearance on “CNN News Central,” data analyst Henry Enten said voters view Trump as consistent and believe he is delivering on many of his promises from the 2024 presidential campaign.

When asked how voters feel about the second Trump presidency, especially in the midst of contentious policy actions on issues such as immigration and tariffs, Enten said the American people view Trump as “steady Eddie.” Enten shared data that shows Trump has consistently maintained a strong favorability rating since the beginning of his second term.

“Go back to October of 2024, 44 percent of the American public viewed him favorably,” Enten said. “Now, despite everything, look at this, 43 percent, which is well within the margin of error of that 44 percent. And here’s the thing to keep in mind. This was good enough to get Trump reelected back in 2024.”

Enten’s findings present an overall positive outlook for the Trump administration at this point in Trump’s second term. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared the CNN report in a Truth Social post on Wednesday.

When asked what was driving President Trump’s steady favorability rating, Enten cited the belief among voters that Trump is delivering on his campaign promises. “Donald Trump is who the voters thought he was,” Enten said.

Data cited by Enten showed that 52 percent of voters thought Trump was doing what he promised to do, compared to 48 percent who did not share that view.

“What essentially is going on here is the voters expected all of this from Donald Trump, the majority did, and that is why his favorable rating, simply put, has not really moved all that much compared to where it was a year ago,” Enten said. “Trump is basically doing what the American people thought that he was going to do. Indeed, if you look at the numbers, Trump has basically the steadiest favorable rating this much through a presidency of any president on record.”

Enten discussed how Trump’s favorability may impact the 2026 midterm elections, noting that the outlook is positive for Republicans if the administration can maintain its steady approval rating.

“The bottom line is this, as long as Donald Trump is where he is, Republicans will, in fact, remain competitive,” Enten said. “If they, in fact, gain a little bit, it really would not be that surprising to me if Republicans were able to maintain control of the House.”
