Faith leaders gathered with President Donald Trump on Wednesday in the Oval Office, offering prayers on his behalf.

The White House shared an image of the leaders praying with the president seated at his desk.

“It was a huge honor to represent @BaptistLeaders and meet @realDonaldTrump today along with other Christian leaders and pray for him in the Oval Office,” William Wolfe, executive director of the Center for Baptist Leadership, wrote on X.

“It’s been an incredible day—been keeping this under wraps until it happened, but can’t wait to share more!!” he added.

Wallbuilders leader David Barton also posted the image to X, adding, “Truly a blessing to [sic] of been there with @POTUS.”

Some other leaders involved were Robert Jeffries, the pastor at First Baptist Dallas, Paula White-Cain and Jenny Korn, who lead the White House Faith Office, and Samuel Rodriguez Jr., president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference.

Trump recently addressed the importance of prayer during a February National Prayer Breakfast, as RSBN previously reported and broadcast live.

“From the earliest days of our republic, faith in God has always been the ultimate source of strength that beats in the heart of our nation,” he said.

The president spoke in Statutory Hall inside the U.S. Capitol.

“Thomas Jefferson himself once attended Sunday services held in the Old House Chamber on the very ground where I stand today,” the president continued. “So there could be nothing more beautiful than for us to gather in this majestic place…and reaffirm that America is and always will be one nation under God.”

Trump also spoke fondly of President George Washington, who often urged the American people to pray.

“And more than two centuries later this morning we heed President Washington’s wisdom and following his mighty footsteps…the stories of legends like Washington, Winthrop, and Williams remind us that without faith in God, there would be no America story,” he added. “Every citizen should be proud of this exceptional heritage.”
