As President Trump nears the end of his second week back in office and his mass deportation program is getting underway, U.S. border patrol agents have reportedly seen a drop in the number of migrants encountered along the border in the past week.
Since starting his second White House, President Trump has been fulfilling his promises by signing new policies and executive orders, and the people are loving it.
RSBN reported that a Quinnipiac University poll revealed that President Trump started his second term in office with an approval rating 10 points higher than at the start of his first term in 2017, and now border agents are feeling the effects of President Trump’s hard work to solve the border crisis.
Breitbart reported that U.S. border patrol agents have seen a 55 percent drop in the number of migrants encountered along the border in the first week that President Trump was in office.
U.S. Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks wrote on X, “In the past seven days, U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended 4,577 individuals attempting to enter the country illegally, a significant 55% decrease from the previous week’s 10,281 apprehensions.”
He credits the increased number of deployed soldiers, saying, “With more boots on the ground, we’re making a substantial impact to the security of our borders.”
Banks also shared to X that on Tuesday, agents arrested five criminal aliens with murder and assault charges. This is only President Trump’s second week in office, and we’re already seeing some order being brought back to the border.
According to ABC News, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said that it had made an average of 710 immigration arrests daily just between Thursday and Monday. Under Biden’s administration, the daily average arrests sat at 311 in a 12-month period.
Another report from Breitbart revealed that President Trump’s ICE agency had deported 7,300 illegal migrants just in his first week, getting President Trump closer to his goal of reaching 1,200 to 1,500 deportations each day with a total of 500,000 migrants deported.
