Independent journalist James O’Keefe declared the founding of a new media organization, O’Keefe Media Group, not long after exiting Project Veritas.
Announcing his new project, O’Keefe tweeted: “They have awakened a sleeping giant! My brand new movement O’Keefe Media Group will not just be me – It will include you. Let’s build this army and keep every statehouse, every city council, every school board and everywhere people are conspiring to keep power, proactive favoritism or line their pockets with tax dollars! Become a founding member today!”
The O’Keefe Media Group is building “an army of investigators and exposers along with the most elite journalists in the world,” according to the organization’s website. This army will go to “every statehouse, every city council, every school board and everywhere people are conspiring to keep themselves in power, practice favoritism, or line their pockets with tax dollars.”
Prior to establishing the O’Keefe Media Group, O’Keefe led the investigative outlet Project Veritas, which he founded in 2011.
Despite spending more than ten years working for the group, O’Keefe abruptly left Project Veritas earlier this year amid internal strife with the board, RSBN reported. Nevertheless, he reassured supporters at the time that he was “not done” and that the “mission goes on.”
In a video presenting his new initiative, O’Keefe said, “I spent 14 years creating the most effective non-profit newsroom this country has ever seen. In paving the way to establish citizen journalism, I have been defamed, arrested, raided, and ultimately removed from the organization I spent so much time developing the credibility of.”
He continued: “Remaining by my side are a small, tight-knit group of the most elite journalists in the world. Exposing corruption requires standing up to power because power hates sunlight. We are sunlight. Welcome to the O’Keefe Media Group, where we will never be shut down.”
The O’Keefe Media Group will officially debut on July 4, Independence Day.
