President Trump is standing up for  U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents following a confrontation that led to the fatal shooting of a Minneapolis woman. Federal officials have characterized the shooting of Rachel Good by an ICE agent as self-defense, after video footage showed her appearing to drive her vehicle towards officers. The incident has been met with backlash and sparked widespread anti-ICE demonstrations nationwide.

In a Truth Social post on Tuesday, the president spoke up in defense of the ICE mission and pointed to failed open border policies as the root cause of increased violence and danger in American communities.

“Do the people of Minnesota really want to live in a community in which there are thousands of already convicted murderers, drug dealers and addicts, rapists, violent released and escaped prisoners, dangerous people from foreign mental institutions and insane asylums, and other deadly criminals too dangerous to even mention,” President Trump said. “All the patriots of ICE want to do is remove them from your neighborhood and send them back to the prisons and mental institutions from where they came, most in foreign Countries who illegally entered the USA though Sleepy Joe Biden’s HORRIBLE Open Border’s Policy.”

The shooting of Good has led to more than 1,000 planned protest events across the nation. Conservative leaders have pointed to the funding sources of protests to suggest that they are highly organized and well-funded.

Speaking on Rob Schmitt Tonight on Monday, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna emphasized American support for ICE. “I think a lot of people are really upset about the amount of people that have come here,” Rep. Paulina Luna said. “Also those that came here fraudulently and are now abusing our system and we’re seeing this at mass scale in Minnesota specifically.” Rep. Paulina Luna also discussed subpoenas that are being issues for funders protest movements and suggested anti-ICE sentiment is being promoted by left-wing groups that want to harm the U.S.

President Trump pointed to ICE’s track record of removing violent offenders and reducing crime and accused Democratic politicians of deliberately promoting unrest in blue cities as a way to distract from other failed policies.

“Every place we go, crime comes down. In Chicago, despite a weak and incompetent Governor and Mayor fighting us all the way, a big improvement was made,” President Trump said. “Thousands of Criminals were removed! Minnesota Democrats love the unrest that anarchists and professional agitators are causing because it gets the spotlight off of the 19 Billion Dollars that was stolen by really bad and deranged people. FEAR NOT, GREAT PEOPLE OF MINNESOTA, THE DAY OF RECKONING & RETRIBUTION IS COMING!”
