RELEASE: RSBN responds to comments made Saturday by guest host Matthew Alvarez

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

July 31, 2023

AUBURN, Ala. — On Saturday, July 29, Matthew Alvarez, an independent contractor, hosted portions of our live coverage of a political rally. Alvarez interacted with attendees outside the venue, allowing them to voice their views and opinions on current affairs. One attendee expressed his frustration with the current state of affairs on-air in such a way that the network found it necessary to provide an adequate response.

RSBN does not support, condone, or agree with encouraging violence or political intimidation. RSBN is, and always will be, a company that promotes the democratic process, the free exchange of ideas, and civil debate. We fully believe that the deep political differences that affect our nation can be resolved through these peaceful means.

Matthew Alvarez provided an official statement to RSBN:

“I would never agree with someone who would say ‘kill them all.’ The person I interviewed had slurred speech, and in that moment, I misunderstood what he was saying.

I believe in God, Family, and Freedom, as do many across the United States and around the world. I have never in my life advocated for violence, instead, I have and will continue to advocate for Faith and Freedom.”
